John is a guitarist who 'wears many hats'. He has toured the world as a solo, classical guitarist, but is also a recognized authority on the music of Chet Atkins. He has authored several popular books, (Chet Atkins in Three Dimensions Vol.1 & 2, The Legendary Guitar of Jorge Morel) and produced a great, two DVD instructional video on Chet's style and technique (Chet Licks). John writes a regular feature article for Fingerstyle Guitar magazine and performs with Kirk Hanser as the internationally known Hanser-McClellan Guitar Duo. John has collaborated with several partners on numerous CDs. He is the head of classical guitar studies at Webster University in St. Louis, MO and also a regular performer and clinician at the annual, four day long, Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) convention in Nashville every July. John's repertoire includes a mix of popular, traditional, spiritual, and classical music for the guitar.
